To ensure that your lighter runs smoothly at all times, it is important to keep your fuel tank full to prevent any air intake during ignition. Refilling your Ligne 2 can be accomplished in a few easy steps. If you ever forget which refill to use, you can always check our , our product pages, as well as underneath the cap of your S.T. Dupont lighter.

To ensure that your lighter runs smoothly at all times, it is important to keep your fuel tank full. Refilling your Line 2 can be accomplished in a few easy steps. If you are unsure about which can of butane is required, you can always check under the gas refill cap for where the correct color is indicated. You can also check out refill guide.

Start by unscrewing the cover on your refill valve. I make it a habit to always depress the valve to check for air or left over butane using an empty pen or screwdriver. Press gently on the valve to allow the air or butane that is inside to escape. It there is already butane inside, you DO NOT need to drain it all. If there is no butane but you can still hear air escaping, it is important to remove all of the air. This air will cause trouble refilling your lighter and can create problems down the road.

For the regular Line 2 family of lighters, you will need the yellow can of butane. Place your lighter upside down on a flat surface with the refill valve uncovered. Screw the butane can into the threads of the lighter. Once the threads have locked in place, press down gently for 5 seconds. It is a good habit to remove the can and depress the valve slightly to ensure that the lighter accepted the butane. If not, I remove any excess air and try again. Once you have verified that lighter accepted the butane, you can screw the bottle back in to refill the lighter for about 5 more seconds until the tank is completely full. Do not worry if there is any backsplash of butane while filling - this is normal. Replace the cap and you are good to go!
